Frequently Asked Questions
Your wedding day is going to be the happiest day of your lives, so being able to relive it all is so important. So much happens throughout the day, there’s things you may have missed as well as moments you’ll want to look back on. Getting your friends and family in one space for the day is such a rarity and it’s amazing seeing everyone together. You will have put an enormous amount of time and effort into planning your day, so watching your guests enjoying it is such a rewarding experience. But, of course, you’re the main event, it’s your day and everyone will be there for you. Looking back on the moment you said “I do” and the many more moments throughout the day is utterly priceless. And as the years roll by, that footage will become more and more valuable. My couples often tell me it’s one of the best decisions they made.
Typically, I cover around 11 hours on the day. I will get there a few hours before the wedding ceremony starts and stay until I’ve captured the dancing and fun after the first dance.
I capture a lot of footage throughout the day, and I want you to see all those amazing moments. Your ceremony and speeches will make a big contribution to the feature film’s length, alongside montages to music of the bridal prep, drinks reception and evening reception. The feature length film will be at least an hour long, with the highlights film being between five and seven minutes.
Turnaround for the edit will usually take between two and four months, it depends on the time of year. During peak wedding season and the months that follow, the editing workload will be more significant than during the winter and quieter periods. I will be able to provide a more accurate timeframe after the wedding. Every film gets the time and attention it deserves, so it can’t be rushed but it will always be worth the wait. If you want to get some content delivered within 7 days of your wedding, I do offer the fast-tracked 60 second teaser that can be added to your package.
I will create a private online gallery for you to view and download your films. Your highlights film will also be uploaded to Vimeo so you can stream and share it publicly. I will also send you a USB stick with everything on.
Absolutely! I ask you to provide a list of songs for your feature length film so that it’s as personal to you as possible. Songs from the day, songs that mean a lot to you or just songs you love! The highlights film will use licensed music (for copyright reasons, as it will be streamed on Vimeo). So, I choose a couple of tracks that suit the style of music you love. All of my highlight films use music from my license subscriptions, and they work brilliantly.
Yes I do! And at no extra cost. The use of a drone is dependant on suitability and permission from the venue, as well as the weather. But whenever the opportunity arises, I love to get those aerial shots. There’s nothing like them!
Yes, absolutely! It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and ensure that we get the most out of your film. There is a lot to talk about, from timings to any small details you want me to focus on. We could meet at the venue, at a pub/cafe, or I could come to you. Or if video call works best, we could do that too. I like to arrange this a month or two before the big day.
I’m based in Buxton, Derbyshire and willing to travel to all parts of the UK. I mostly cover Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire. I don’t charge extra for weddings that take place within a 100-mile round trip. If your venue exceeds this distance, I will give you an estimate on the additional travel costs.
As standard, I do work solo. Before the big day, I will write up a detailed plan for the filming once we have met to discuss everything, so I know where I need to be and when. I cover a lot of ground throughout the day, but if you wanted your wedding captured in even greater detail, I can call upon one of my highly talented colleagues to shoot the day alongside me. I offer this as an add-on so that we can be in multiple places at any given time, add an extra camera angle during the ceremony and speeches and capture an even greater variety of shots.
If you want me to, and I strongly suggest that you do, I am more than happy to get a few words from your guests. In fact, I couldn’t recommend it enough as they often provide some of the most priceless moments of the film. Whether they’re funny, heartfelt or just cringe-worthy, they make an essential addition to your wedding film. This is something I offer as an add-on, and it requires me to stay longer into the evening. This is the best time to do it because there are so many other things happening throughout the day that need capturing. Plus, people generally feel more confident doing them in the evening 😊
You’ll hardly notice I’m there! I work in an unobtrusive manor, blending into the background and capture the day as it happens. However, I’m always on hand, should you need any assistance with anything. It’s your day and I want you to enjoy every minute of it!
